Me.
I'm Jag Patel (MIT Sloan School, 1997). I have a lovely house with my husband in Southern New Hampshire.
My Work.
I am a senior project manager at MIT in the Office of the Provost. I have led a number of IT projects at MIT since 1998, including managing MIT's Web Survey Service for surveys and rapid deployment of web applications such as lotteries. I have assisted independent organizations with their web projects, including an international health organization, a choral arts society, an organic farm, and a medical products company.
Other Stuff.
I do something physical every day: running, strength training, rowing, shoveling snow, or gardening. From 2002-2006, I was a rower, logging more than 12 million meters (almost 7500 miles). I participated in many of the rowing challenges issued by Concept II, including the Holiday Challenge and the Annual Marathon Challenge. In the 2004 Holiday Challenge, I was the "6th most insane woman" by logging 440,000 meters. The challenge is to row 200,000 meters between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.
From May to October, I try to be Farmer Jag. Cooking is a therapeutic process. I'm Indian and British by birth, so I drink a lot of tea - usually from Adagio Teas, a gourmet tea shop. I might just have a tattoo. I try and take photos every day. Sometimes you have to remember to jump, and not touch the ground.
